(I)Implements the CPC, national, provincial and municipal principles and policies in poverty alleviation development, old area construction, and resident relocation; monitors thecity’s poverty alleviation development, old area construction, and resident relocationstatistics.

　　(II)Formulates the and organizes the implementation of thecity’s poverty alleviation development program and annual work plan for old areas and poverty-stricken areas within thecity’s overall planning framework for economic and social development; works with relevant departments to prepare and organize the implementation of thecity’s post-relocation support program and annual project plan; reviews thecity’s resident relocation programs for relocation from mountainous areas, post-disaster relocation, engineering relocation, and relocation after construction of new medium and large-sized reservoirs (hydropower stations) with givenauthority.

　　(III)Manages the thecity’s poverty alleviation development, old area construction, and resident relocation projects, works with relevant departments to supervise and inspect the implementation of thecity’s poverty alleviation development, old area construction, and resident relocation projects.

　　(IV)Works with relevant departments to audit, review, supervise and inspect the utilization of thecity’s poverty alleviation development, old area construction, and resident relocationfunds.

　　(V)Undertakes the training, demonstration and promotion of poverty alleviation via science and technology in the old areas and poverty-stricken areas; organizes training for poverty alleviation cadres; organizes production technology training for relocatedresidents.

　　(VI)Organizes thecity’s targeted poverty alleviation by the Party and government organs and all sectors ofsociety.

　　(VII)Takes charge of the management of migrants from Three Gorges area; assists with external liaison in the poverty-strickenareas.

　　(VIII) Accomplishes other tasks assigned by the CPC Municipal Committee and MunicipalGovernment.
