YU Xiuming, XU Nanji, RAO Liping, ZHANG Jianwu, and CHEN Rong AttendedtheCeremony

　　On the morning of September 30,the7^thNationalMartyrs’Day, Yichun held the ceremony of presenting flower baskets tothepeople’s heroes in the Martyrs Park. This ceremony was intended to memorize the great deeds of the martyrs, express our grief, carry forward the patriot, collectivist and socialist spirit, inspire all people of Yichun to stay true our mission and boost the quality leap-frog development ofthecity.

　　YU Xiuming, secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee, attended the ceremony and organized the ribbons for the flower baskets. XU Nanji, deputy secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee and mayor of Yichun, chaired the ceremony. Municipal officials RAO Liping, deputy secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee, ZHANG Jianwu, director of the Standing Committee of theMunicipalPeople’s Congress, and CHEN Rong, president of the CPPCC Municipal Committee, chief procurator and chief justice, and representatives from all walks of life totaling about 400 persons also participated intheceremony.

　　The Martyrs Park is solemn and serene. On the towering monument are 8 red powerfully written Chinesecharacters“Immortal Heroes oftheRevolution”glittering in the sun. At 9:00 a.m., XU announced the opening of the ceremony of presenting flower baskets tothepeople’s heroes. Standing on two sides of the monument, six honor guards sang the national anthem ofthePeople’s Republic of China. After the end of the echoing song, all participants stoodsolemnly.

　　After that, the young pioneers sang the League Anthem of the Young Pioneers of China to the monument. The vibrant song showcased the uplifting spirit and firm belief of carrying forward the spirit of martyrs of theseyoungpioneers.

　　IntheaffectionatemelodyofSong of Presenting Flowers, 18 honor guards steadily carried 9 flower baskets, walked toward the monument in parade step, and placed them in front of the monument. The booming flowers emitted light fragrance, revealing our deep memory ofthepeople’sheroes.

　　YU slowly walked to the flower baskets, and carefully organized the ribbons. Next the municipal officials and representatives from all walks of life participating in the ceremony in orderly queues solemnly made a bow to the martyrs, looked at the monument and martyr wall with reverence, and presented the flowers with greatrespect.

　　After the ceremony, all participants expressed their determination to permanently memorize the great deeds of the martyrs, fulfill their unfulfilled wish , and work together to advance the quality leap-frog development of Yichun. (ByLUOYurong)
